THE RITZ-CARLTON SPA

DALLAS, TX

ForrestPerkins transformed the Spa at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas by thoughtfully reimagining the guest journey through a multimillion-dollar renovation completed in early 2022.  Inspired by lush residential gardens and the winding tree-lined ribbon of nearby Turtle Creek, the design takes cues from nature abstractly and timelessly.

The story of the surrounding flora created the overarching narrative for the Spa to become a reprieve from city life.  The design team re-envisioned the layout of the spaces from the entry through the lounge areas to create intuitive ease of flow throughout the Spa.  A soft color palette inspired by lavender and lilac blooms provides a breath of fresh air, while crisp white millwork with bronze accents provides a backdrop for additional retail displays throughout the spaces.

As you enter the Spa, the door handles from Rocky Mountain Hardware resemble a natural tree branch forged out of bronze.  Spa guests will experience a sculpted trellis in the reception area with textured flowers, vines, and leaves.  The design team worked with a local sculpture artist to create a full-scale trellis hand-forged in steel.  The beauty of the trellis lies in the delicate details of twigs, leaves, and branches, meticulously formed out of raw metal, with a natural patina that provides warmth and a luxurious glimmer.

The unique marble flooring in the hair and nail salon evokes shades of lavender and deep purple veining. At the same time, delicate gauzy sheers discreetly divide the luxurious lounge seating offered in the Men’s and Women’s Lounges.  Luxurious shopping experiences significant to Dallas, such as Neiman Marcus in Downtown Dallas and Highland Park Village, inspired the textiles and retail displays. Flowers in nearby parks and gardens inspired the organic forms in the reception seating, the sculptural trellis, and several lighting fixtures.
