TULSA CLUB HOTEL | CURIO COLLECTION BY HILTON
TULSA, OK
Once the social and business epicenter for the city’s elite and influential oil money, this project takes inspiration from the Men’s Social Club itself in its rebirth as a luxury lifestyle hotel. Built in 1927 in the Art Deco architectural style, this new hotel honors its history while creating a modern experience rooted in sophisticated style and premiere hospitality offerings.
The 11-story building has been completely re-purposed to accommodate its rebirth as a luxury hotel, while restoring the magnificent grand ballroom, mezzanine, event space, original corridor configurations and rooftop terrace. A fresh interpretation of the building’s Art Deco architecture creates an interior scheme in both public areas and guestrooms that references its past and is appealing to now and future guests. Elegant nods to the era of the building tie the interiors to the original architecture, while creating a story of its own.
The project included crafting 96 rooms and suites on 8 floors of the 13 story building, respecting the historic district’s mandate that the original corridor configurations remain intact. This resulted in varying corridor widths and room depths. Preserving all of the original Art Deco details within the building was paramount, yet much of the original details and materials required extreme restoration.
The success of the three-year design and construction process attest to the cohesive vision of the developers, the design team, the brand and the operator. Accolades began pouring in as soon as the hotel opened, with highest ratings for all categories.
