Sheng Wei Yang
Junior Interior Designer
Sheng Wei Yang, who started as an intern at Forrest Perkins in the summer of 2021, has grown his interest in hospitality, luxury retail, and high-end residential projects. In addition, his diverse background in biomedical and fashion design gives him a unique approach to interior design. Mr. Yang found his passion for interior design while working in film production as a student creating set designs.
Focused on hospitality design and invested in community service projects and conceptual design. Mr. Yang enjoys a variety of creative outlets. During 2021, he had the unique opportunity to work with New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID) and entered into a competition, “Recipe for a Room,” held by AIA New York Center for Architecture (AIANY) to benefit The Restaurant Relief Fund to support the industry facing unprecedented economic hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Yang graduated with the chairman award from the New York School of Interior Design in 2022, earning a Master of Fine Art in Interior Design. In 2020, Mr. Yang was recognized as the Student First Place in the Dacor National Design Competition. With Mr. Yang’s exceptional design skill, visualization ability, and diverse background, each space he designs evolves with a great sense of personality and story.
